Hunting Information FAQ
Obtaining Alaska
Hunting Licenses and Tags
- Linda Vrem is a license vendor for
the State and can sell tags and licenses. All clients will be
sent applications, I receive them in February each year. We
strongly encourage you to buy them prior to your hunt. Buying
them at camp is time consuming and you are not guaranteed availability
on all tags. Make checks payable to: LINDA VREM
- You may buy licenses over the counter
from most sporting goods and grocery stores in Anchorage.
- You may purchase license and tags
online with a credit card at http://www.admin.adfg.state.ak.us/license/
- Non-resident Hunting License $85.00
- Brown/grizzly $500.00
- Moose $400
- Black Bear $225.00
- Mt Goat $300.00 (Permits must be
obtained in Glennallen prior to your hunt. You will need your
hunting license and Mt Goat tag with you at that time)
Weather
Weather induced delays are not my responsibility. Safety for you,
my employees and myself is the #1 priority. Weather delays happen,
always have, always will, relax.
Your Hunting Expectations
We know you want a big Alaska Yukon Moose /Alaska Brown/Grizzly
bear. A common scenario is that you really want a 65" moose, but
you will take a 55" on the last day or two rather than go home
empty handed. If a 55" will do on the last day, why wouldn't it
be good enough on the 2nd day? If you truly do want a 65", why
shoot a 55"? It's not what you want.
Trophy Preparation and Shipping
It is much easier on everyone if you plan on using D&C Expediters
(907-344-9719). We will get you trophies to them as time permits.
Speaking of D&C you have to call them, you need to know what
to expect to pay for their services, their billing procedures,
etc.
Antler Splitting
Sometimes it's necessary to split your antlers to transport them.
We do it all the time, if we didn't tell you would never know.
If you taxidermist tells you this is a no-no, get a new taxidermist.
I won't split your antlers if they might qualify for Boone and
Crockett or Pope and Young. Unsplit moose antlers may require
a charter from Aniak to handle them. This is paid by you.
Shipping Meat
You, not me, need to call a meat processor in Anchorage and give
them your credit card number and instructions for processing and
shipping any meat you may wish to send home. We have used and
recommend Alaska Sausage at 907-562-3636, their website is:www.alaskasausage.com
